Trump's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has considerable social media audience
Kai Trump will have numerous high-profile cheerleaders when she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, possesses multiple international courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she stated.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He practically advised me to go out there and enjoy myself," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending this weekend. He's focused on running the country, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in only three events this year and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He told me to go out there, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, including world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that her participation helps introduce the sport to new audiences, especially with youth audiences.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and recently launched her own fashion and living label.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
