The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The most recent action-packed instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in action and insanity with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, socially charged stories. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose projects have exemplified all of those things.
About the Series
Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' structure by introducing a different setting and cast of characters in every instalment.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the producer.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners constantly supports me with their constant trust and assistance.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone program. Every instalment is a take of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this intricate and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our mutual irreverent, visionary style to the screen.”
A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
