Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event isn't the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
