Netflix Chooses Perfect Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.
Netflix announced Tuesday that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. The role has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve made contact with with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a interpretation of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.
This performer joins several other fresh additions set to bring the organization to reality, such as leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who also joins the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Even though the role is a important part of Baroque Works, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
