Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
