Barça to Host First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
